  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I work at Sage in the UKI Reporting business and analytics team at sage, where I do a variety of data tasks, which include data delivery tasks, reporting and analytics and my apprenticeship related learning. I go to the office and also work from home, and Sage has been excellent.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the program when I get interesting projects to work on. My team solves problems from around the business relating to data so it is not repetitive. While there is the occasional task that is less enjoyable, overall it is a great introduction into the tech industry.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The program is structured well with 6 hours of apprenticeship related learning, as well as long apprenticeship content meetings where we are taught things about data that we can apply to our working roles. Recently it has gotten much better as the Power Bi work is good. Sometimes the events could have more information however.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive a ton of support as my team is great and will help me with any data related questions I have with my work. Every member of my team is willing to help each other so support is easy to get for anything I have to learn.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • We get support such as feedback on our portfolio and assignments, with good constructive feedback that ensures we are more likely to succeed, as well as the option to meet our mentors often in smaller focused sessions if we have questions or things we want to discuss.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Occasionally I go out and socialize with other apprentices.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Sage to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I would recommend sage to a friend as it has good flexible working from home, as well as a good office community who are willing to help and share knowledge to ensure everyone succeeds. While no company is perfect, sage, and my manager put lots of effort into my well being

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Sage?
  • Advice i would give would to be have some past data projects you have worked on, or perhaps create one to display you are capable of such data tasks, or whatever else they are applying to, and have some real life examples to go off to show your strengths and weaknesses. They are very understanding and I did not feel judged during my interview, so just be yourself and be honest.
