My role includes learning new skills and upscaling on previously learnt skills to better my knowledge and understanding. It also involves helping my co workers on things they may be unsure about to help better their knowledge too. It also involves helping customers and ensuring that they are fully satisfied.
I have learnt all about the customer journey and the restaurant experience from a new customers point of view. This allows me to better help the customers and make sure that they are fully satisfied and help them through and experience that they may be unsure of. I also revisit skills I have previously learnt to become more advanced
I very much enjoy my apprenticeship as it allows me to understand every aspect of my role at work and leads to better interactions with customers which improves both mine and the customers mood making both of our experiences the best that it can be. This makes me want to work more shifts because coming into work makes me feel uplifted
My programme is very organised. All of my written work is organised into months that I should be completing it by, which gives me easy targets to make sure I’m caught up and not falling behind. I also have a dashboard with gives me an overview of my progress which is very helpful to keep me on track
I receive a lot of support from my employer as they give me 1 day a week to come into work and get my online work completed. I also get the opportunity to learn many new skills and improve on those skills until I am the best that I can be
Lots of support is given to me as I get advice on how to manage my time when completing online work and how I can improve. I also get lots of advice on things I may be unsure of and they break it down so I can learn small parts at a time and then piece it back together to make sure I understand
By working towards having the hospitality qualification it helps me when I’m with a customer as I know exactly how to keep them fully satisfied and help them in the best way that I can. It also helps me to advance my skills, which gives the customer a much better experience
Yes. We sometimes host charity fundraising events for RMHC which gives all the staff and customers a chance to get involved. For example, every year a select amount of employees from my store walk up mount snowdon and collect sponsor money from friends and family that goes towards RMHC and allows for social interactions outside of work
Yes
McDonald’s has a wide variety of employees, making it very easy to make friends with people. As employees, we also get a lot of personal benefits, such as free private healthcare after 3 years of working there and a variety of discounts at different shops, such as supermarkets and online shopping
Always be yourself and try to keep a positive attitude and mindset. This allows your employer to see who you really are and will always want to employ people who are bubbly and happy, as it can boost staff and customer morale, which can lead to better sales and give the store a good reputation
