  • Yes. Interesting to learn about operations management and leading and managing people. Two key elements of my role

  • The programme is interesting and good. It is challenging managing a work/life/study balance.

  • Generally well organised. Skills coach changed after 3 months. Not great for continuity. But generally good.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Plenty. I am given freedom to schedule the time I need for my apprenticeship. I am trusted to complete this at appropriate times.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Tutors and skills coaches are generally very helpful. They go the extra mile to ensure we do well. This is reflected in the results.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It definitely allows me to improve my performance. I am able to apply the theory behind some things I did anyway, which really helps me to understand the importance of it.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes, although these are sometimes limited. The franchise group has very limited events and it’s difficult for the whole of McDonalds to do an event together.

  • Yes

  • It is a great place to learn new skills. It may be a starting point for some, but it can also be a great career for others.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to McDonald's?
  • McDonald’s doesn’t require a huge number of natural skills or academic ability. The thing that will make you stand out is attitude. Those that want to do well and work hard, usually end up doing well!.
