  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Each day I have the freedom to choose and prioritise different audit sections to work on. This entails performing various audit tests on engagements. Catch ups with the senior/manager may occur at the start and/ end of day.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learned problem solving skills when dealing with complex information provided by clients. Where these require manipulating to be able to be used, my Excel skills have also been developed such as using different formulae or features such as pivot tables.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy my programme as the apprenticeship enables me to continue studying to gain technical knowledge, which I can implement within my role. The programme also tests my ability to balance work and studying.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is clearly structured and each apprentice has their own pathway to guide them. It is split between work and studying for or sitting exams.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • A variety of types of support are provided, such as each employee being allocated a buddy to help ease them into the firm, besides a line manager who supports in general aspects and any issues the employee faces.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • There are webinars, videos and various resources on the provider's website, helping preparation for qualifications. Besides exams, development sessions are also provided to improve technical and personal skills.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I have found that the qualification has helped me to keep time management day to day, which is transferable from practicing this with regards to studying and working. The qualification also helps me use skills such as problem solving, which I continue in my role.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There has recently been an increase in the number of different activities at work, which can all be found through Teams channels. Some examples include bouldering, badminton, pickleball and even anime.

  • Yes
