  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I'd really enjoyed my programme learning so many new skills, and even bonding and networking with my colleagues has helped me to land a permanent role at Unilever. The social aspect of Unilever has also been an amazing experience meeting other apprentices from Level 3, Level 4 etc, Grads and Industrial Placement students.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme was very structured where the first year, I acted as a Marketing Assistant in Brand. After a year, I became a Junior Assistant Brand Manager for Dove & Vaseline Skincare. The modules of the apprenticeship were matched to the project that you were responsible and accountable for, therefore the structure was relevant.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I received a lot of support from both Unilever, my mentor and my line manager, where Friday was my study day to complete my assignments and coursework. Due to my dyslexic, I was able to take slightly longer if needed to complete assignments and the business was very understanding of this. My line manager and my mentor both offered support and guidance with my coursework where needed, if there was a topic or module that I didn't understand.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • The support from the course provider could have been more supportive in terms of available to respond to queries, such as specific module questions. It also became difficult as we would often have different coaches for catch-ups where it was difficult to build a relationship, due to the nature of seeing a different coach or tutor each time.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My qualification (or time spent studying with Multiverse) has defiantly helped me to understand how to use data, also my understanding of stakeholders, the role of different divisions or business units. It would have been much more useful if the course was tailed more towards the marketing function or had a CD rotation as it would have been more applicable in another department straight away.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • I've taken part in many different social events such as Rounders and Netball Teams, Drinks in London, Team Away Days. I've also represented the business on a number of occasions to sixth form colleges, where I would be networking with students and other business professionals. The Great Walk, Christmas and Summer Party are all great networking and social events within' the business.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Unilever?
  • I would suggest to gain as much work experience as possible to ensure that you understand how business operates, such as being able to show strong personal skills alongside your academic qualifications. Also believe that being passionate in your interview and showing that you've got above and beyond to complete background research about the company will go a long way.
