I am a sales representative. I focus on internal and external sales so my days are always different which I enjoy. Some days I may be at home answering calls, sending emails and booking on orders and others I may be out on the road visiting customers in my territory.
I have definitely developed my communication skills in this role, I communicate with internal and external stake holders daily and I have seen my confidence grow because of this. I have been able to learn and develop a range of skills such as teamwork, thinking, resilience, time management and admin.
I really enjoy my programme. Every day is different and I am constantly learning. I have a supportive team but as well as this everyone at Tarmac is supportive, I have had the chance to work with a range of teams to develop my knowledge. My apprenticeship provider is also very supportive and I can always ask questions when I'm stuck.
My programme is very well structured and organised. My team and Tarmac know what's going on and are supporting me through my programme. My apprenticeship provider shared our plan at the beginning and we are now working our way through it with regular workshops and coursework. It is very well organised.
I receive a lot of support in my role, whether that's from my immediate team, the HR team, early careers team or any other team I collaborate with. My apprenticeship provider, GI group are also very supportive, my trainer is available through out the week to talk to and ask questions too when needed.
I receive great support from my training provider, Gi Group. I have a dedicated trainer, Marcus, who hosts regular workshops. We his available through out the week to talk to and he also arranges one to ones to see how I'm getting on. The wider team at Gi are supportive as well, they have a dedicated safe guarding team and care about our wellbeing.
Through completing an apprenticeship I have learnt and developed a wide range of new skills. I have also developed my knowledge within sales and am constantly learning new things through workshops, off the job hours and coursebooks. I apply this new knowledge to my role which allows me to perform better.
