Making food and drinks, serving customers, cleaning, mopping, sweeping, counting for tills, running orders out to customers who are waiting in the car park from drive thru. Bagging drinks and food for deliveries. And making sure the dining area is clean tidy stocked up and presentable for all the customers.
I have learnt new skills such as initiate and how to dress burgers. I have also learnt how to make and bag the drinks up. I have also learnt how to take orders on drive thru and take payment ensuring each customer pays the right amount and if cash make sure the notes are genuine.
I really enjoy the apprenticeship programme as it helps me to gain knowledge and experience in the food industry as well as customer service. Which helps me to know how to help every customer in the most suitable way and how to treat everyone with respect and include everyone at work.
The programme is well structured at my restaurant every month we get 6 hours to do our apprenticeship work at the workplace. Which is really useful to me as it gives me the time to focus and ask questions from the manager if needed. I'd say it's well structured and useful.
I receive support from my employer by having hows it going meeting every month where we talk about different ways that can help to complete the tasks. And set any new targets and tasks in order to improve during the duration of the apprenticeship. This is very useful to me.
I receive support from my training provider. Every 6 weeks we have progress meetings where we talk about what's gone well and what needs to be done to improve. We also set new targets and tasks during these meetings. Which is very useful to me as it helps me to focus.
I feel that the apprenticeship helps me to perform better in my job role because it helps me to understand the knowledge and experience that I can use during my shifts. It also helps me to understand how to treat people with respect and inclusion which is very important in a workplace.
There are extra curricular activities to get involved in at work such as work Christmas parties, sports day, football teams.
