  • I have learnt skills permeant to project management which I would not have gotten the opportunity to learn elsewhere

  • company, colleagues, and benefits are excellent, but more on the job training would be nice.

  • Qualification is well organised and structured, but traineeship itself often feels like any other full time job with no additional input

  • The required support is always there, it just often requires a lot of digging to get to. All learning is very independent.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • meetings whenever i need them and a dedicated qualification support manager who has been extremely helpful.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Qualification is relevant to a lot of the day to day administrative tasks I do within my role and has given me the skills to improve processes.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Massively so, networks for anything from members of the lgbtq community to armed forces veterans and reservists. Regular networking events are run coving a variety of activities and a wide group of people.

  • Yes

  • abrdn offers a excellent environment to grow and learn, plus a great launchpad for a career in business/ finance.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to abrdn?
  • When you get the traineeship, have a 5 year goal in mind for what position you would like to be in. Use the traineeship as an opportunity to develop your career at an accelerated pace compared with university or college.
