My day to day role involves auditing companies within a team at EY Southampton. This gives me a wide range of tasks to complete with lots of exposure to different clients and industries. This involves lots of communication with different people who are internal and external to EY.
I have developed my communication skills massively as well as develop more professional skills such as preparing and signing off documents.
I couldn't be happier with the programme I'm on and the company I'm with. There are lots of social events run at EY Southampton and my peers show very similar interests as it is such a young working force.
It is a very well structured programme with peers above going through the same programme. This makes it easy to reach out for help especially with the 'buddy/councilor' system in place at EY.
There is a very wide range of support here at EY which has been very beneficial to my programme especially when starting off something new at such a young age.
I receive lots of support towards my qualifications from my training provider such as extra revision classes and lots of class materials.
It helps me perform better in my role as I gain more knowledge in the correct field which helps me add to my workplace and develop those new skills.
There are lots of social activities, sports teams and networking events here at EY. Just to name a few examples that I'm involved in - I play 5 a side football every Wednesday with people from EY Southampton, this really helps build relationships here and was a great ice breaker.
Yes
I never thought I would enjoy going into the workplace so much, but the structured qualifications and range of social networking events really makes the job and qualification enjoyable.
Be relaxed and focus on communication skills as it will be a big part of your role when you join.
