Maintaining and providing network services for Business fixed line and mobile customers on the Vodafone network. My daily job involves repairing the equipment when it goes down or installing new equipment to customers who need a network within their business location. A responsibility of a Vodafone engineer is to ensure quality standards are high and customer expectation is met.
Before starting my apprenticeship , I had no understanding on telecoms however I know understand how radio frequency works, how to commission equipment using command prompts, understanding of IP addressing and subnetting, different types of connectors and cabling along with a much better understanding of computers and how to fix issues when things go wrong.
I love my programme, it is really engaging and the people I work with are great at teaching me new things. I love the coursework side of the programme too along with the online classrooms as it is teaches me new skills which will benefit me for the rest of my career.
QA provide an excellent structure by using the online learning platform called BUD. BUD is very clearly laid out and learning content is provided both by Vodafone and Cloud Academy which are easily accessible through the programme, BUD allows me to contact my Digital Learning Consultant very easily along with track my progress during the course
Vodafone and my team are really engaged with my course and always provide help and give me the time and resources needed to succeed. I couldn't ask for a better employer during this course as they have the same desire as I do to succeed and pass the apprenticeship in the best possible way
QA always provide me with excellent support when I need it, I always feel that they have a real interest in all the apprentices to succeed, whenever I need support they are always quick to help and reply to my messages really fast, they have even set up a coaching session with me when I needed it
The training received through the apprenticeship allows me to learn more of the theory and technical side of my work through study, It has given me an opportunity to learn things I possibly wouldn't of learned about usually such as IP and Subnetting as they are used within my role however not given an thorough explanation
Vodafone always have social events regularly to engage their team members, I recently completed a team walk around London where we took the day to socialise and get to know each other. There were some members in my team who I wouldn't usually work with so it was great to get to know them
Yes
A great employer who really cares about their colleagues and customers, the brand is driven to succeed and they want everyone to be on board, They really are a great employer to work for and I enjoy every day coming to work and learning new things, really would recommend to anyone
If you are technically minded and love working as a team, apply for the role as you will probably see it as a long term career path. Be yourself and think about how you as an individual can make a difference at Vodafone as everyone is valued and everyone contributes
