I carry out pre & post contract tasks on projects across the UK and around the world. As an apprentice, I have an internal support network in the team, and an extended support network through the university.
So far I have learnt the basics of NEC contracts, how to develop a cost plan, the basics of construction and developed my software & client care skills.
I would highly recommend my programme to anyone that is considering a job in construction.
My internal team is extremely supportive of my development and support me in both my job role and my uni work, helping with the time management.
As above.
My training provider is a fully virtual university, which means you have to manage your own time, however the university provides additional support if you are struggling or fall behind.
So far, the modules I have studies have been relevant to my role & to obtaining chartership after graduation.
There are quarterly activities set up for the individual offices & sports teams that meet weekly. The Exeter office is small, so some offices have more activities than ours.
Yes
The apprenticeship programme is a step into the world of construction, allowing you to work and gain experience whilst you study.
Bo open-minded and keen to learn, be confident and network as much as you can.
