My role is to look after the elderly, I go from home to home and providing all types of care. I do personal Cares, cook clean, welfare checks. I make sure that they are all being well looked after. I help them to get dressed and give them their meals.
I have learnt so much since being there! I have learnt how to roll people correctly, how to use slide sheets. I have learnt how to give people medication and check they are getting the correct ones and the correct times. I have learnt alot about different catheters. That's just some examples.
I have absolutely loved doing my programme, it has helped me learn so much and has helped me develop skills that is needed in my workplace. I am able to complete the questions in such detail. It has helped me go further in my job than what I did when I started.
My programme is very well organised. I am able to ask my tutor for help when if and when I need it. We have monthly check ins to see how I am getting on and to be able to ask any questions that I may have. My tutor is very helpful.
My employer doesn't really help when I need it, she is always very busy doing other things and can't manage to make time for me. This is not a problem though as I have an amazing tutor who is always on the other end of the phone when I need help.
I recieve so much support from my training provider. She is always going above and beyond to help me when I need it. She is always pushing me to get the best level answers possible. She's just helped me so much throughout the whole course. I cant complain at all.
My qualification is helping me so much with my job roll. I have already learnt so much since starting it. I would defenitly reccomend anyone in my job roll to start the qualification if they haven't already because it really is a huge help. The course has given me so many new skills.
We dont currently have any extra-curricular activities to get involved in at my workplace. I think it would be nice to bring something like this in. My workplace is more for the service users than the employees. In my opinion, I think it would help a lot to have this brought in.
Yes
I would defenitly recommend it. I has helped me so much since I started. It has enabled me to go further in my career. It has given me the opportunity to become a team leader. I have learnt so much skills which has made my job so much easier for me.
I would just say to always ask for help if you need it, don't sit and struggle when their is people that can help you. Don't give up if you start to struggle because it is so worth it in the end. You just have to enjoy it and look at the bigger picture.
