Running a shift including closing down the business, opening up a business, and overseeing day to day running, stock take, beer deliveries
I have built upon and developed new skills through my apprenticeship whether that be my leadership skills and being able to effectively run a shift or different styles of services that are available within the hospitality industry and the benefits of each style of service to understanding the different types of clients we receive in our venue and their specific needs
I really enjoy learning the different aspects as I’m working through my programme and using what I’ve learnt and putting it into practice, gaining the knowledge needed to help my succeed, also the ease of access and flexibility offered through my apprenticeship to help cater to my needs
Very well organized, it’s broken down into different segments which include teaching and learning, review and reflection and off the job training where I can note what I have learnt over the course of the apprenticeship and how I’ve put it in to use during my working hours
My employer caters to my needs by setting aside a time frame each week where I can focus on my apprenticeship during working hours, whether this is by shadowing my manager and picking up extra knowledge and also by giving me time to work on my apprenticeship during working hours
The support I’ve received from my training provider has been amazing In the form of my tutor, who has helped me hit deadlines, push back deadlines when needed, offered one to one teaching lessons and booked me on online courses to help me further develop and prepare for my assessment.
It’s given me the key knowledge needed to perform my role, without the extra help through doing my qualification and experience gained on the job as part of my qualification I wouldn’t be in the position I’m in now or have the opportunities afforded to me to succeed as easily.
Not that I am aware of
Yes
Since joining the company I’ve met new people who have become friend and almost like family, whether it be customers or co workers, I thoroughly enjoy going to work as each day can be completely different from the day before with new challenges and new obstacles for me to overcome.
It’s not just a job it’s a career, get involved as much as you can and reap the benefits, sign up to an apprenticeship of offered to do so and learn some valuable skills which can be put into practice externally or internally. Be prepared for a challenge of a lifetime
