  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • So as a senior carer I have learnt so much. There is so much as an senior from leading a team of carer to work to dealing with serious situations. So there is alot of pressure working as a senior in a carehome setting. One thing you always have to remember every day there is something new you will learn ad an senior carer.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • So working from bottom as a carer I showed my hard work and became more trusted from the residents and the staff. When I became a senior I had the confidence and in care home you will never have a steady day so you will always have to work hard and in pressure situations.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Like I said you learn alot every day as a carer but that mostly in your practical duties when it comes to understanding all the information and the correct information I had to join the programme to learn and educate myself to know everything to make my job environment alot easier.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • So it not to bad but some times I got sent alot work and other days very little that made it slightly difficult to work around my job so planing was very important to get my work done. So what I mean is I had to get my work and the program work to fit in the right ways.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I have received alot of help especially from the manager and the deputy manager. But the thing with me is I am willing to learn so they are here to help me succeed. I have to show them am ready for the next step so working hard is the most helpful tip I would take.

  • So I contact the trainer provider anytime but I had video meetings once every 1 week so even if I was at work the manager would let me be in the meeting so the meeting was on a video call and they would give example of situation or show certain thing on they screen that I could see so it help alot.
