I work within Treausry Services in an Operations role for the bank. On a daily basis I solve client queries and set up direct debit and standing orders on our clients accounts. I also reconcile some of our nostro accounts we hold with partner banks to ensure the flow of payments is happening as we would expect. If there are eber any problems I must escalate to management as and when it is appropriate.
I have learnt how to act in a professional environment as it is very differe to a school environment. I have also developed my presentation skills as we have had to present on many occassions to both colleagues and management.
I thoroughly enjoyed the 18 month programme with JP Morgan and would recommend this to anyone who asked. The opportunities I have been offered are incredible and I know I made the right decision for me to enter into this programme rather than going on to university to study towards a degree.
I feel very valued within JP Morgan anda whole, amnd specifically within my team. Although I am an apprentice, you are seen in the same way as all of your other collegues and are treated with the same respect. I complete the same level of work as everyone else in my team and work together with them to complete specific projects on top of our day to day work.
The programme is very well structured, where all apprentices in my departmnet complete three six month rotations in differnet teams. This means we are able to gain more knowledge of the area and also get a fele for where we think we would like to role iff into after the programme has completed. Our managers provide us with a lot of support along with the Bournemouth Schools Program team.
Our training provider is always at the other end of the phone if you ever nee dthem. Whilst sitting lectures you can ask as many questions as you like, and also stay after if you feel it necesary.
Our employer ofers us a lot of support as there are multiple people to talk to if you ever need help. You can go to other apprentice's your collagues, your manager, or the Bournemouth Schools team to ask for the advise you need.
Our salary is very competitive for an apprenticeship and is definitely high enough for living costs if you decide to move out of home. I feel we are very lucky with the package JP offers us as appentices
There are multiple opportunities outside of work such as sports teams, socila clubs and team evenings out to network etc. It is down to you to decide what you would like to participate in but the opportunities are there if you wish to.
Yes
As I feel that the exprience as a whole is incredible. I have taken on noard every piece of advise I have ben given ove rthe 18 months and as a result I have grown as a person. There is a lot of focus on the gorup in the work place and this means we are given multiple opportunities that othe rmembers of staff may not necessarily get. I only have good things to say about this apprenticeship.
A tip I would give to other applying woul dbe to be yourself throughout the hiring process. They look for people with their own personalities rather than being some one else jsut to try to fit in. Also, be confident in yourself as they will see that coming through and respect you for this.
