Making up of samples for customers, developing products, using computer systems, assisting with presentations, ordering raw materials, fetching raw materials, ordering from other sites, speaking to customers, working on projects, cutting down and reducing ingredients and costs, developing my eportfolio, doing university studies, interacting with internal customers and other teams.
Using computer programs such as ones local to the business, learning how to develop recipes, learning how to use machinery to make up ingredients, learning how to speak to others confidently and correctly, learning how to help and do presentations, help to assist and help others doing different new things.
I enjoy the program very much. I enjoy working and learning on the job as it is more suited to me than a typical classroom setting. I enjoy both lectures and practical's when we go to our block weeks. I enjoy learning new things and how they link to industry.
My course is structured well to give us both lecture and non lecture sessions everyday, so we are not just sat down all day. The blocks are arranged 4 times a year where we learn at university the rest of the time we are assigned between block work which helps us to study elsewhere.
I receive plenty of support and time from my employer. My boss is very patient and lets me do work as a need to as he says study comes first. My employers are very open to me learning form others and trying out new experiences that will help me in the future.
I receive good support from my university as they see me in person 4 times a year and check up on me for virtual meets another 4. They make sure I am on track and that I am getting the supported I am in need of from my work place.
My qualification helps me to perform across all areas of the workplace. It allows me to have a high range of skills and a little knowledge of everything so I can help across all areas. My qualification helps me to learn on the go and link workplace to university experiences.
At my workplace we have a social club which you can opt into to for a small fee. This lets you get reduced tickets for events and day trips you can join. We also do several activities a year to support charities and sometimes go out as a work group.
