  • I am an apprentice electrician who works on a handful of sites with my mentor, learning as i progress with the job and experience new things.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes i have learnt many new skills and I have also developed many of my existing skills. I use new and old skills everyday while working on new projects and adapting to each job as needed.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I do enjoy my work as i get to learn new skills and get to experience different sites each day. I get to have my own responsibilities and learn from my peers, this allows me to grow and get better as the longer i practice/

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • There has been a few hiccups here and there with changes happening last minute but all around it has been okay. If there has been problems they have got fixed and ironed out over time.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • The support has been has been there when needed, its not always easy to ensure support is available but after some time it usually gets better.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I have monthly meeting with my training provider who ensures we are up to date on tasks that are needing done and ensure my progress is going up. It's easy to get in touch and figure out any problems

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • In someways it helps but my qualifications have zero practical courses while my work is pretty much all hands on and im able to learn the more i work through jobs with my mentor.

  • No there are no activities like that.

  • Yes

  • Tarmac has many other opportunities when you enter the company, they will help you get qualifications if need be.

  • Make sure to keep on working hard and concentrate on the things that will help you progress
