I am a nursery nurse, I take care of children aged 2-5, getting them ready for preschool, helping them reach their milestines in the best way they can. Providing a safe and comfortable environment and bonding with them. Ensuring to follow procedures while keeping the children in a happy stable environment. We encourage children to reach goals.
I have learned lots of new skills while working in this apprenticeship, not just with intelligence but with social too, gaining confidence and working as a team. I learned about how to care for children correctly, the standard of education at their age and many procedures and practices that will help me in the future.
I didn’t feel like there was much if anything I could improve on in my specific course. I enjoyed every moment, I loved the work and the team, it was a great environment. My tutor was amazing and helped me with everything I needed I couldn’t ask for anything better.
The programme was very well organised, communicating with the place of work and my team very well. There was set objectives, goals and topics every few weeks and I felt like everything was really well organised. Communication was definitely key in this apprenticeship. It couldn’t have been made any easier to understand
I got so much support it was unbelievable. My employer was constantly asking if I needed anything else, any more support. They helped me a lot mentally when I had struggled for a short period. If I had any questions or concerns they were always there to help, they were perfect and professional
I had meetings and talks with my tutor every few weeks, if I needed help or any extra questions I forgot to have mentioned I could call and email, communication helped a lot. They’d thoroughly talk to me about every thing I needed to know and help me along the way
I would not have been able to understand my rule and do it to the standard I have and will without my training providers help. I feel that the way I was taught and the way I was supported through the course made me succeed in the way I did
We often did team exercises and every birthday etc we would always go out outside of work hours. We took trips together to build as a team and even went to an escape room at the end of year, we always treated each other like friends and professionals in there
Yes
I would not have gotten to where I am today without it. I think it lead me to the career and into the person I was meant to be. I feel like I found myself during this course not only because of paragon skills but because of the work place I have made genuine family
Stay focused, if you feel like you’re forcing yourself everyday and you’re not enjoying working then you should reconsider. Never settle. Work towards who and what you want to be and you will be fine. It will get harder throughout the course but know that there’s never a moment you can’t ask for help
