I work in technology and my day to day role consists of producing automations for various internal clients.
Whilst on the apprenticeship programme, I have been privileged and was selected to participate in a 12 week Java training course. This is an excellent new skill which I have learnt and I use this transferable skill everyday in my job role.
I thoroughly enjoy the apprenticeship programme it has made me very excited about my future career. As it has already exposed me to senior managers, plenty of training and networking.
Even at an apprentice level I feel very valued at J.P.Morgan, people in my team even sometimes forget that I'm on an apprenticeship. I feel like a valued, full-time staff member.
It's very organised and structured. Each Monday is our 'Apprenticeship day' where we participate in online lectures, complete coursework and private study. The remaining 4 days of the working week is then spent in the office.
I recieve a lot of support from my training provider 'BPP', if I email them with any queries I have regarding taskbooks then they email me back within the same day.
A huge amount of support is recieved from my employer. The schools programme give me constant support and adivce. Then everyone in my team is always extremely encouraging regarding work I produce and complimentery about how I'm getting on. I have a great support network at work.
For an apprenticeship programme the salary/package that they offer is very generous.
There's plenty of opportunities to get involved in such as various charity event. I'm participating in the yearly Round the island race in June where J.P.morgan will be raising money for charities.
