  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role involves solving problem within the team and trying to come up with solutions to problems. It also involves a lot of safety and assurance aspects such as safety cases. I spend a lot of time with excel spreadsheet on a typically day to day. I also attend meetings and help out within the team

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have developed new skills since starting the apprenticeship, I have attended training courses that have allowed me to develop skills relevant to my day to day work and I have also attended different lectures, workshops and other learning experiences that are available to help me to develop bit new and existing skills

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I do enjoy my apprenticeship, I would with a lot of good people throughout different teams which enriches my day to day job and makes the whole apprenticeship more enjoyable, I learn a lot and I feel like the work that I’m doing is beneficial to my personal growth

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I think that the apprenticeship is structured to assist us both academically and professionally, I think that when assisting us professionally it is normally quite well organised sometimes however academically there is often breaks in communions resulting in poor clarity of different situations leading to it not being very well organised

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Throughout the apprenticeship we do receive a lot of support from our employers, they are normally understanding of when time off is required for uni and also when it comes to explain tasks and providing us work that is relevant to my learning and experience my employees are understanding and supportive

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • From our training provide I think we get an adequate amount of support, we only have one day a week with our training provider and most of the lectures or teaching staff are very supporting and encouraging however some members of staff do not adequately teach the content or provide support

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I don’t believe that my qualification through my training provider supports my role or in my day to day job, some aspects could be seen as semi relevant but overall I don’t typically used my qualifications in my role as my day to day activities different from what is taught

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • They are lots of different extra curricular activities within the work place to get involved with if you want to including a sports club, the gym with exercise classes happening in the morning and at lunch, different networking events are encourage and all of it is easily accessible when required

  • Yes

  • I would recommend this place to work because I enjoy working here, I think that the company provides me with the facilities and support I need to grow professionally while supporting my academic career as well, they provide plenty of different opportunities to expand and overall provides a pleasant working environment


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Ministry of Defence - Submarine Delivery Agency?
  • Advice I would give to others applying work be to ensure that you car confident in the job role you are applying for, I think that it is a really good company and environment to work in however you have to ensure that you find a role that is suited to you
