Day to day I work on clients to check their financial statements are correct and fair. I assess documentation and write reports. I communicate with the client via phone calls and emails. I also take part in team meetings to report on the progress of the audit. I work on large international clients.
I have learnt communication skills, having to professionally communicate with my team members, seniors, and clients. I am also completing a professional accounting qualification alongside working for KPMG. I attend BPP university every few months and have exams throughout my five year apprenticeship. I will become a chartered accountant when I am fully qualified. This has enabled me to learn lots about accouting and develop my maths skills. I also get a lot of opportunities within my role at KPMG to develop my personal skills e.g. project management
I enjoy my programme as I am enrolled with other apprentices who I can work alongside and we support eachother with both work and study. The team at the office, both at graduate and manager level are very supportive and contribute massively to my professional and personal development. The company culture is very welcoming and the working times are flexible.
My programme is very well organised. I attended an online week induction (due to COVID) where I got to meet all 1000 other apprentices starting in the UK. I am given a lot of time and support for my studies by KPMG and my training provider. I have 2 reviews per year where I am assessed on my performance at work which helps my professional development. I am mentored by the same manager throughout my apprenticeship. These meetings are scheduled far in advance which allows me to organise my time well.
I recieve a lot of support from the whole team at KPMG. There is a dedicated apprenticeship team who are always available to speak to if I need support with work/study/life balance. I can also schedule meetings with my mentor whenever I require. We are given lots of extra support throughout working from home and have a weekly check in where we can request a call with a wellbeing specialist if needed.
My training provider sends many emails where we are able to get access to support if needed- at any time, even if we do not have an exam coming up. They also run forums just before exams so that we can ask any questions to our tutors. They schedule monthly calls to check in and ensure that we are completing everything required for our apprenticeship
The training I recieve directly relates to my day to day role so I find that it really benefits me with every task I am given at work. The theory I learn is put into practice on an almost daily basis. I get to learn a lot of detail about my role through my training provider which contributes to my professional development.
There are lots of social and volunteering opportunities at KPMG. They have many sporting events and competitions that anyone is able to take part in. I have already completed a few volunteering opportunities. There are also lots of Microsofts Teams channels that allow those with similar interests to connect with other employees.

I am given so much support on a daily basis and get to work with large international clients as part of my everyday role. I am given training which directly relates to my role and therefore it never gets boring. The company are dedicated to professional and personal development which will allow me to move up the company in the future
When applying to KPMG, assess how your work and education directly relates to the role that you are applying for. Prior to interviews, ensure that you do a lot of research about what you will be doing and what KPMG's values are. It is a long application process- 6 months so ensure that you take this into account and apply early.
