I work as part of a team to complete an audit of a companies finances for the year. This involves communicating with the team and the client to review the information we are provided with and then create workpapers that evaluate our findings and are used to present our response.
I have learnt new techniques for excel to improve on my existing knowledge of how to use it. I have also improved on my team work skills by having to work in a small team daily and communicate what work I am doing to keep on top of our plan.
I enjoy the programme a lot as it gives me the chance to learn in the industry whilst also getting my professional qualifications for free. This blend is really helpful when it comes to taking my exams as I encounter the problems that come up in the exam whilst on the job.
The programme is very well structured to all me to have enough time to properly understand my work by having a good period of time on one job whilst also having enough time to study my courses and also have enough time to revise for my exams when they come round.
I receive a lot of support from my employer. I have regular catch up calls with my performance manager to check i am on track with my studies and to make sure that i am not overwhelmed by my work load. They also provide opportunity to provide feedback on how i'd improve the programme.
I receive a lot of support from my training provider when working towards my qualifications. The tutors are always happy to answer questions via email and the training provider put on regular extra revision sessions with tutors during the week and on weekends to fit around everyone's schedules which is ideal.
It helps me perform my role to the best of my ability as when i come across something new in my role i already have an understanding of what i need to do through what has came up in my training prior. This overlap makes me feel confident in what i do.
Yes, there are lots of opportunities. There are lots of societies within the company for different interests, religions and preferences. On top of this, there are plenty of office wide work socials that include activities that help the team bond and relax away from the stresses of work which i enjoy.
Yes
It's a great company full of great individuals who are always happy to help and are free of judgement. They also offer a competitive wage and offer great extra schemes like discounts on gym memberships and a bike to work scheme. They also give you the chance to travel for work as well which is a bonus.
When in the interview process just be yourself because they really value people for who they are and how they treat other people. Also, ask a lot of questions. They appreciate people who are eager and willing to learn to improve on themselves and to help a bigger cause in the team.
