Being a field based engineer, I frequently travel to customer sites fixing a variety of medical diagnostic equipment including; CT, MRI and X-ray machines.
I have developed a lot of skills during my apprenticeship, from both hands on skills, using tools and specialist equipment, to soft skills such as communication and how to manage difficult situations.
I really enjoy the apprenticeship program and those I work with, especially the e variety offered in the Job and the travel.
The programme is exceptionally well organised, with the combination of a dedicated in house training manager and Stegta.
I receive plenty of support from my employer when required, which helps me balance college and work ensuring I have a good balance.
Lots of support with regular catch ups/1-1s. Answering any questions and pushing me to achieve my best.
Throughout my NVQ I have been documenting what I do a lot, this means by writing up about my jobs and documenting. My awareness of our working practices is improved.
We have two social activities a year which are always great fun
