Working on decarbonisation projects which includes extracting data, research, analysis and report writing. Along with university assignments and projects with deadlines. Learning new skills such as presentation skills and coding.
Yes, I've learnt presentation skills, currently learning Python and also learning new software to develop projects (PSSDE).
I enjoy it a lot because of the flexibility I have to work on projects and complete the university course. I also enjoy having a small community at my local office and going to the main office in Manchester once a month to see everyone.
University wise, the programme is very detailed and well structured. They have organised meetings with various mentors and managers within the course and on-site teaching days. Work-wise, projects are delivered and I get to work closely with someone on each project.
I've received good support from my employer as the team I am in all actively help me grow in the career and I have a mentor who helps me with my university work which is helpful.
There is a lot of support and structure with in the training provider to help achieve the qualifications. Communication is very good, monthly check ins and on-site teaching all help.
Starting a new role and a new course can be challenging but they have complimented each other by practising my skills in report writing, exploring the company more for my projects and being able to reach out to people that are experts or have experience in my role.
Yes, coding is an extra-curricular activity at work, social activities such as dinners are also what I get involved in.
