Tool hire Branch sales Review

My role involves serving customers either by email,phone or face to face and delivering their tool hire requirements all over the country. The customer will ask what tool or welfare unit or piece of machinery they require and then get it sourced where and when they require it. Tools are also supplied from branch also.

I have completed my English level 2 qualification and currently working on my Maths level 2 and hope to pass whilst i'm on my level 3 apprenticeship. I have learned the tool hire processes and procedures at Travis Perkins and the British values that go with the role. I have also learned the computer systems at Travis Perkins to aid me in my role.

I enjoyed the webinars on how the modules were explained and what to do to complete them along with discussions and Q and As. Matt Woodman my coach also stayed beyond the webinar to see if we had any issues or concerns on the work for all modules not just the current one.

The course was very well organised and structured and even explained on what is expected for you to complete that particular phase in the module, it even explains what standard it covers. The programme even states when it was signed off and notes was added if there was anything missing or needs looking at.

I have great support from my Tool hire manager who allows to make time for me to join the webinars and work on the course as and when i'm required to do this. Colleagues even supplied laptops etc to help me complete exams in the office where it is quiet.

Matt Woodman has been an exceptional in every way. He presents the webinars clearly and in a enjoyable way to keep you engaged. Matt also ensures that your OK with everything and is always a phone call or an email away and usually responds quickly. I cannot rate Matt highly enough.

My qualification will enable me to progress onto my next level/phase of the apprenticeship to become a manager in the future. It will also help me to improve sales and understand tool hire processes better day by day. It will also enable me to work safely by keeping up to date on the procedures also.

I currently studying for my level 2 maths. I am also participating in the Rutland cycle challenge for the company charity event on June 30th. I also have a go at other roles in the branch from time to time so I can get an understanding on how other stuff works in the business.

I would highly recommend Travis Perkins to others because of the apprenticeship programmes have been very good and I have learned a lot out of it. I feel the support in the company is good as long as your willing to put the work and effort and time in the course.

I would be confident and always admit to areas that you will need to work on so you can get the right support and training going forward for future development. If you work hard then you will be recognised and you will get your rewards. Also be honest with the company will always go down well.
