I am an associate accountant for EY LLP. In this role, I've had the opportunity to utilise working well in a team to achieve what is needed for our clients.
I have learned and developed multiple new skills, such as the applications of Excel, time management, and communication with my clients along with people on my team. I have learned a lot about the job role, along with the multiple options we have been provided for the future.
I enjoy it very much. It's a completely new experience and lifestyle which is great for someone who just finished school.
The programme is with ICAEW, so it is very well structured and organised.
The employer provides a lot of support such as the training required to work along with the studies for our exams. All apprentices start the year with a buddy and a counselor to help with any queries as a new beginner.
The training provider has many resources for us to use to pass our exams. Course notes, question bank and online/in-person tutors always ready to help us.
The courses in the qualification help us a lot, in the theoretical field of our job making sure we understand the majority of the work we do along with the experience we gain from working in teams.
As a team, we do have many social activities such as nights out to socialise with friends, along with mini-games such as golf or bowling.

It's a great new opportunity to learn multiple new things, not just skills but become more responsible in life. We also get a great qualification at the end of the 4 years which can take you anywhere.
