  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am a decision maker on universal credit. I make decisions on housing and temporary absence cases, these decisions impact my customers financially. I use phone calls and journal messages to contact customers. Day to day I select new cases and complete them using relevant legislation.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • During my apprenticeship so far I have developed a lot of skills. I have started to use new skills such as self analysation and reflection. I have also developed my current customer service skills through courses on the apprenticeship

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I am enjoying the apprenticeship so far. However it is challenging but that is also something I enjoy. I have received good support from the team at realise.

  • It is well organised as I am set tasks for every few weeks and have regular meetings with my development officer and she is there to contact if I need to speak with her

  • My employer is not too involved in my apprenticeship but they passed me over to the realise team and have been there if I need them.

  • I receive a lot of support from my training provider and they are very understanding of my level of skill and help me to develop this further

  • I feel as though it helps me meet a better customer service standard

  • We do not currently have any social activities however we are getting back to this post covid
