On a daily basis I look after children within a nursery setting. During my day I hand over to parents about the child’s day they have had at the nursery. I set up educational activities for the children and deliver stem based activity’s for the children to engage in.
Within my apprenticeship I have learnt many new skills. Some skills include health and safety or even safeguarding skills which I have had training on from my apprenticeship. I have learnt all about how to keep a child’s best interest at hard all the time as well as ensure they are getting the most out of there day.
I have really enjoyed my experience with this program, all of the team are so lovely and keep it at a professional but personal level. They make it easy for everybody to understand and always make sure you are okay with every activity that you are set within your apprenticeship.
I believe the program is very well organised and structured, they explain every detail you need to know when it comes to webinars and discussions. Even when you can’t make it to a webinar they always manage to cater to what you need and will re arrange a time and date that suits you
I personally feel as if I could receive more support from my employer than I am currently recieving. My assessor has been a very great help throughout my whole time and is great with the communication to my employer but my employer could be more supportive and allow me more time out of the room to be doing my off the job hours.
My training provider has been very supportive throughout my whole apprenticeship. She always makes sure I understand every task that is set for me as well as making sure I can get everything done on time. She speaks to me as a friend while still keeping a professional level within our work.
I believe my qualification helps me to perform better in my role as it helps me get a better understanding of what I need to do on a day-to-day basis within my work. I also feel it has helped me as when I will be leaving this workplace. I will have more understanding for a better job.
My workplace have provided me with lots of different opportunities such as flick training as well as a health and safety course which means I am now first-aid trained and I wouldn’t of had the opportunity if it wasn’t for my workplace. My workplace also offer well-being sessions to ensure that everybody is doing okay within them selves.
Yes
I feel my nursery have given me an opportunity that I wouldn’t have had if I hadn’t of taken on this Apprentiship. It’s helped me for real life situations as well as preparing me for future job roles. They have allowed me to gain qualifications while learning as well as getting paid to do so.
Tips and advice I would give to people applying to the honeypot Day Nursery would be to be yourself and always have a smile on your face. You have to remember that the children are counting on you so providing them with the best and most healthy environment possible keeps them happy
