I work on brand new systems making sure that our clients receive the best service and products the market has to offer. Process cheques through the systems and constantly in contact with other teams across the globe.
Gained confidence and have many new skills for the financial industry. My skills with regards to typing and team interaction has increased and I have learnt how to manage all different types of situations on different days.
I enjoy the programme to a huge extent, there are lots of ways to get involved and get your career off to a great start especially when it comes to meeting more senior management.
I feel very valued as an apprentice by JP Morgan, they are always making sure I am included in the right things and that I am praised for when everything goes well when I am helping with projects and being pro-active at work.
The programme is extremely well structured, this is especially when it comes to days where it is programme led and not just Business as Usual led. Although it didnt start off as well especially when we were the first year of Apprentices, it was soon quickly reorganised and structured to a high standard leaving me in the end with well recognised qualifications.
We received a lot of support from our training provider as they were constantly on hand not only just to teach us but guide us through what we wanted and needed to know in order for us to understand exactly what we were being taught. They also helped and were understanding, especially when we had lots going on at one time.
From my employer I receive more support than I can imagine and this is in every aspect. Therefore I always have someone I can talk to if need be and also I am supported by both my supervisors and managers across the floor.
My costs are very low as I live at home for the moment. The salary is far more than I need and is allowing me to save up and get on the property ladder. This is a huge boost for someone my age especially when it's not so easy to not follow the obvious route of University.
Outside of work there are tonnes of opportunities to get involved and to experience life outside of work. Plenty of times in which I can go and help in the local community and join sports teams to further my networking.
Yes
It's hard not to say its obvious. JP Morgan is a great place to work, they reward you when you go that extra mile and there is so much you can learn that you can always find new information out. The Bank has a great name and is so widely respected, the opportunity should never be turned down if it arrised.
Don't ever think that you can't apply, always make sure that you are well equiped and have increased your knowledge of what the bank does. Most of all, make sure you want it, because that will come across.
