  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role mainly consists of running a team of 10 sales executives selling new and nearly used premium/luxury vehicles. Additionally, I am responsible for the financial and customer retention aspects of the role. Day to day I will manage the CRM Systems, control enquiries, quote customers on purchase options and deal with a multitude of other aspects of the business which fall across my desk.

  • Yes, I have been afforded the opportunity to brush up on my IT skills. During my apprenticeship I have also been shown and become a bit of a ninja at PowerPoint and publisher.. • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy my programme to the extent that if anyone was considering doing it themselves I would immediately tell them to throw themselves into it with all they have! Getting the learning juices flowing at the ripe old age of 43 is no mean feat but I can honestly say that I have enjoyed every minute of it thus far!

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Seamlessly.. our old provider Qube learning unfortunately went into administration which meant a month away from the programme.. I am pleased that both Jardine motors and realise worked tirelessly to restart the programme with little effort and to ensure that they kept continuation seem less with the same venues, tutors and support packages in place.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • From my employer I receive an enormous amount of support.. they are fully invested in their people developing and achieving throughout their careers.. sometimes I feel guilty for the time away from work as immediate management could show they are a little more supportive but ultimately they don’t stand in my way of betterment!

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • The amount of support I receive from the training provider namely my tutor Charlotte is immeasurable. She is always at the other end of the phone for answering quick questions, where possible she makes her self available for teams dall catch ups and if I have to miss a session due to other commitments I can easily catch up at the earliest ipportunity

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I think that ultimately learning a lot of the theory behind what you do on a daily basis can only be a good thing. Learning what makes people react to certain triggers and how you should react back ensures success in all levels. Also learning new theories and practices helps to the betterment of my performance.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Generally in my mine of work there is little time to get involved in extra curricular activities. I believe some staff members will socialise after work however as a father of 2 young boys my life outside of work revolves around family. Jardine motors are good in the respect they will allow 2 paid days out of work for charity work.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Jardine Motors Group to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I’ve worked with a number of different motor groups in the past and can honestly say that this is one of the better organised, most inclusive and diverse employer I have worked with. They seem to really care about their staff and are looking to expand which brings with it opportunities toning the ladder further

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Jardine Motors Group?
  • Go for it… make sure you are fully prepared and ready for your interview process. Jardine are very selective on who they employ, it isn’t always about the most qualifications as they firmly believe in developing people it is more about your passion for delivering a top class level of service 1st time every time
