  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • My knowledge and skills in childcare has greatly improved from both just working in the nursery day to day and from doing my apprenticeship tasks, webinars and discussions. Within the room, my colleagues have helped me to learn and develop my skills with regards to looking after and entertaining the children.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Honestly sometimes it depends on the day you ask me as to whether I'm enjoying it. Some days are very challenging and or stressful/overwhelming whereas others make it all worth it and remind me why I'm doing it. Some weeks can be stressful due to staff sickness and therefore lack of study time.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Most of the time, they are very organised and I have everything planned out months in advance like webinars, professional discussions etc. But there have been 1 or 2 instances where something has had to be moved or cancelled and or technology has failed and meant I haven't received something i needed.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Loads. My employer is super supportive and always there if i need them. Only an email or a phone call away and they have helped me many times if i have become quite overwhelmed or confused with the tasks I have been set. I don't think they could be anymore supportive.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Tonnes. There have been a few instances where I have felt quite overwhelmed, confused or stressed and have emailed her and she has been so much help. There has only been a couple of times that she hasn't responded but she has had completely valid reasons and so it's been no problem.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Quite a bit better. It has given me more knowledge and understanding of the children and how to help them and also how to keep them safe and protected. I am still learning but as i learn I believe it is definitely having a positive impact on my job role.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Not sure if this means for adults or children so i will answer both. There are none for adults but we have our monthly staff meetings. For the children, there is a pe teacher who comes in twice a week to do football and pe activities with the children who have opted in to do it.
