  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I work in preschool room which involves caring for children each unique to there own. We open from 7:30 to 6:00 and can have jobs such as toilet training, creating activities, serving food, nappy changing, and making sure the environment is clean and tidy. With preschool we like to get them ready for school by learning letters numbers and shapes.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt many skills like how to communicate to a large number of children. I've had to learn the policies at the nursery and the daily routine as each nursery as a way that works for them. We work as a team and even though your set to a room you find yourself helping other rooms to. My confidence has grown massively while being here.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I love my programme. I find the webinars interesting and the people I work with are caring and supportive. I enjoy that every day is different. Seeing the children develope has to be the best part of the job as well as just being a comfort to a child that might be upset.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It definitely helps. I learn the theory which allows me to use it in my practice. Learning what a child should be expected to know/ do as part of the EYFS in order to develop is a great way of planning my next steps with my key children as well as any activities.
