I am a Software Engineer. The role is extremely flexible and projects vary in scope. But generally i write queries using languages such as Java, SQL, boolean and python. Capgemini's projects are mostly Agile, so i get to interact a lot with other members of the team as well as the Client. This methodology also gives me responsibility as everyday during the Stand-up, i have to give account of what i have done so far and what i will do that day. I am currently on a Data analysis project, which is quiet modern as I am analysing social media.
Technically, I have mainly learned Java and software testing. Also, i have matured a lot and developed confidence in presenting and being professional. I have attended some Agile courses internally. However, on the actual apprenticeship side, most of the courses are recorded and you have to watch them online which is not always the best when you are learning something very new.
The Apprenticeship work can be very boring and mundain. There's a lot of writing involved. Often the work set has nothing to do with the day to day role and you have not been taught either. The actual roles are stimulating and you get to meet some great people. It really shows you what the real world of working is like.
I feel valued by many, but there are also a few who are not very encouraging.
Fairly well organised.
The tutor is reasonably available but mostly distant. When I'm stuck and i ask questions, my questions aren't always answered properly.
A reasonable amount.
Not very to be honest. I do not live with parents so I'm living paycheque to paycheque.
There are many social activities.
Yes
It is a good company to work for, the experience you gain is very good.
Be very open to learning new things
