I gained insight into what working in a technological and environmentally conscious company would be like, hearing from many people who work there. It was also beneficial and will boost my personal statement whilst being an interesting opportunity to explore different jobs roles that siemens have to offer, especially for graduates.
It made me more aware of the vast range of jobs available at large companies such as siemens and showed me that any degree could help you to get a job that you are passionate about. It also meant I could see that the company was environmentally friendly and also inclusive.
I definitely enjoyed getting to know more about many different jobs roles however I felt some where less relevant to me and I was not interested in looking into them however I had to. Other than this factor I liked hearing about the efforts of the company to be environmentally friendly.
It was very well organized and also easy to access and find via spring pod. It also split up the online work experience into multiple sections which was much more manageable and meant I could see what I was going to be learning about next. Overall it was very well organized
I learned a lot about the company culture and what it would be like to work there as there were many videos on this topic for me to watch and learn about Siemens. I learned that they are very inclusive and also they have a large environmental focus which is positive from a large corporation.
it definitely helped me to decide on my future career path and showed me that there are many job opportunities available in the environmental sector and that it is becoming increasingly more necessary to have an environmental sector. it also talked about apprenticeships and graduate jobs available which was useful for the future
this was a free work experience opportunity so I was not paid or reimbursed for expenses however I was not expecting that. it allowed me to explore technology and innovation further and have something to write down on my personal statement which will be good for university entries and future CVs.
as it was a virtual event there were not opportunities to meet other employees in person however on almost every page and there was video from a current employee or young people who have taken an apprenticeship and worked there so we could hear their opinions on working at Siemens
Yes
The company is very inclusive and also environmentally conscious and since it is a big corporation this is a positive sign and it also has many opportunities for development and job growth. The course was very interesting and taught me more about technology and innovation within larger corporations such as Siemens
I would definitely apply for the work experience as it was invaluable and helped me gain insight into technology and innovation and also into skills needed when applying for jobs. it’s also work experience they’ll be useful for a personal statement or CV and just generally was a knowledge booster
