I am a teaching assistant meaning I support and guide children’s learning. I work alongside a teacher to enhance and enrich children’s experience in life to prepare them for the world we live in today.
I have learnt an array of new skills. One that I have found has developed extremely is my communication skills. I can communicate well with the children, staff and even the parents! I have developed my organisation skills, diplomatic skills and many more.
I enjoy it completely. It’s everything I wanted in a career and more.
The programme is very well organised. Everything links well with what was taught previously and I like that I can use new knowledge in practice because it then solidifies the knowledge in my mind.
I receive a fantastic amount of support holistically. My employer takes care of me physically (yoga programme that takes place in school that I can access at just £5), mentally (mindfulness, bereavement time) and socially (rich experience working with a variety of people).
A high amount of support is received through my training provider. They make sure I am aware of who to go to when I need support in my assignments or in any end point tasks.
It enhances my knowledge and confidence to do my job properly. There are no gaps in knowledge.
Yes - there is a yoga class that I like to attend every Wednesday. There are also many different after school activities available - karate/dance etc.
Yes
They look after you as a person and an employee. It’s a good place to work.
Get to know everybody - even if it’s a simple ‘hello, how are you?’ This just makes you feel more included and a part of the Oasis Family.
