Day to day, my role consists of producing daily, monthly and quarterly reports depending on which month of the year we are in. These reports include data regarding the value of funds, and a breakdown of the different assets held within these funds.
Throughout my apprenticeship I have certainly developed existing skills such as public speaking when hosting events for new potential apprentices or even in team meetings. As well as this, I have significantly improved my communication skills using a wide range of communication tools to varying clients/team members.
Since joining, I have continuously been introduced to new tasks month on month which has never made me feel as though I am coasting which I enjoy. Regarding the study time, M&G partner with a company called BPP who have a great, interactive learning system.
Very well organised. I have 30 minute catch-ups with my manager every two weeks to discuss my progress and any issues, however they are always available to speak to day to day should anything be urgent. I also have weekly webinars and 6-weekly calls with my BPP coach.
As of right now, I receive any support that a require whether that be from my line manager, my BPP coach or anyone in my team who is more familiar with certain tasks than what I currently am.
I have weekly webinars and am able to ask any questions to the person providing these webinars in between webinars should I need to. Also, should I have any questions about the training provider I can also propose these to my BPP coach.
Helps provide context for the tasks I am completing day to day as well as a more general understanding of the industry I am working in.
Yes M&G partners with a company called Investment20/20 who provide events where a particular topic is discussed by a spokesperson, and quite often there is an opportunity to network with like-minded people afterwards as you attend these events through choice.
Yes
M&G has a hard-working, friendly culture which drives employees to deliver the best results possible. However, despite the hard-working culture, it is very adhering to mistakes and support on anything you are struggling with can be discussed with anyone at the company.
Learn the company values and have examples of where you have showcased these values in your personal life and be as relaxed as you can in any interviews/assessments.
