  • My day to day role varies greatly week to week. Depending on what clients I am engaged with I could be doing anything from reviewing the conduct of clients to working with them to help their customers

  • I have had the opportunity to engage with a multitude of learning opportunities and develop my programming skills while working with knowledgeable people.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • It's pretty good. Not life changing but the people are great. Very friendly environment and we get stuff done which is always a good feeling

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • At EY Newcastle, a large proportion of the staff are apprentices which means that the course is tightly integrated into work life

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • EY are very accommodating to any of the needs of the university and work very closely with them

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Uni is probably the weakest part of the experience but there have been a few good lectures

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • 9/10

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are a few but there is definitely scope for more to be done on this front

  • 9a. Would you recommend EY to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • As a short term starter job, there really aren't many better options than EY. Not a career for me at this point but that might change in the future


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to EY?
  • Be confident. Nobody here is as scary as it seems. Be professional, be confident, be nice and you'll have as good a chance as anyone else applying
