I am an IT field services meaning that I work at a helpdesk where if people have any issues with their devices or accounts, they will sit down and I will sort it out. I would normally do password resets, set up printers, rebuild PCs and any other IT related issues I will sort out. I also check everyday all the AV equipment and see if everything is working correctly.
I have learnt how to communicate with all different consumers depending on their technical level. This is useful as for the consumer they will be able to understand what they have to do and if the same issue happens they could try and resolve it themselves. I have developed my IT helpdesk skills which intern allows me to hep more people. Also with my knowledge I am able to help my colleagues if they might not know what to do.
I really enjoy the programme that I am doing as it allows me to work while being in education from the age of 16. I am able to improve of both personal and professional development which benefits me. I am also able to meet a lot of people working in a large organisation.
My programme is organised and structured amazingly based on our timings and when we are available. It is a flexible role as the programme allows me to come into work if I have a day off from school I can come into work without having to worry if I need to request weeks before.
My employers support me to the best that they can. They ensure that I feel confident in being in a team I have never met before and being able to request help whenever I want. My director often has talks with me asking how my journey was and if there are anything's that could be done to improve my experience.
I receive a lot of support from my training provider when working towards my qualifications as if there is any issues with teaching or work materials they are happy to sit down with me until I am able to understand the problem I am facing with. My tutor is helpful as I am to talk to him if I have any issues.
I feel that my qualification help me to perform better in my role as I am able to put my technical knowledge into my role and anything that I learn from college I feel confident that I can put that straight into my job role. The more I learn the more I can put it into practice.
At my work there are several extra curricular activities to get involved with. Normally every week there are meeting that you can attend which go over topics that are be used such as ChatGPT and how companies can use ChatGPT to improve their business aims and how to streamline processes to cut time and money.
