The role is split into two main areas but differs slightly depending on the placement you are on. Most weeks are either spent on programming, building software such as alarms and creating graphical displays to visualise the site and its data, or commissioning said software, hands-on at site.
Improved understanding of HVAC, electrical theory, electrical safety, client administration, and customer-facing skills, programming in script and function block and many more trade specific skills.
I really enjoy the team I work in and the people at Schneider are great, there are many opportunities to change your placement and the work is very varied and flexible.
The program is reasonably well structured but due to the nature of the placements being so flexible, there are some areas in which the responsibility is put on the apprentice to maximise their exposure.
Lots of support, the training internally at Schneider is brilliant and lots of time is invested in the apprentice, which is something that is required when working in a field such as engineering.
As the qualification is at a degree level and part-time the training is mainly left to the apprentice whilst working towards qualifications.
The qualification is broad and covers many topics, and due to this it suffers to aid me specifically in my role, this said the skills are transferrable and aid my career in general.
This is mainly an option in the southern regions and less common in the north.
Yes
The role is fun and varied and the training is well put together, I have a potential career for life following this.
Study the company's ethics heavily before applying...
