My role is in Cash Position Management where, in a very high level, it is our job to manage cash on behalf of the company. My day to day routine includes conversing with settlements, comprising positions to send to treasury and checking trades have been booked.
I have learnt so many new skills since working here; the main ones being prioritisation, time management, interview skills and networking.
The programme at JP Morgan is invaluable, it is such an honour to be part of it and I enjoy thoroughly every opportunity offered.
JP Morgan make me feel very valued. There is continuous feedback from my team, my managers and the apprenticeship co-ordinator which gives me the motivation to keep working to my potential. The more you put in, the more you get out.
The programme is very well structured, especially considering it is only in its second year of running. The team who run it work so hard to ensure that everything runs smoothly and links are made between themselves and managers for optimal communication.
There is always someone there for support whether professionally or personally from the training provider. However, I have never had to convers with them because my employer's support is so strong.
The support I have received from the firm has been incredible. There is so much trust between my apprenticeship coordinator and myself that I feel comfortable and respected in the work place.
My salary covers my costs however as I probably have more outgoings than others, I have to be careful.
Yes, there are plenty of extra-curricular opportunities. For example, there is the Round the Island race coming up in June which I am very much looking forward to. We have also had the chance to promote the firm at career events and we have helped the local community recently at Avon Heath.
Yes
Countless opportunities, career progression, networking events, personal and professional development, the list is endless...
My main adive is that JP Morgan values you as an individual so don't try to be someone you're not, they encourage your character.
