Assessing customer's entitlements to benefits using current legislation, policy and procedures and making decisions based on their individual circumstances and awarding benefits where required.
Learning new and developing existing skills including analysis of complex data and writing decisions with regard to standards and using new processes to meet management or business needs.
The Customer Service Level 3 apprenticeship has taught me things about the DWP that I did not know previously. This has helped me with my current role.
The Customer Service level 3 programme is structured and presented in a way that is easy to understand and progress is well managed by the team at Realise.
I have less support than most given my experience in Customer Service prior to DWP but I have the support I need as and when it is required.
My training and development officer at Realise is amazing and really does help me to understand what is required and when it is not as expected, she provides prompt feedback so that I can make amends if needed.
I have a better understanding of the DWP operationally and what makes it a complex place to work but also presents opportunities for me to learn more and to perform my role in the best way.
I am involved in wellbeing team events that include preparing upcoming news or articles relating to the wellbeing of our team in Leeds Quarry House and links in with other colleagues in support of better social or professional networking.
Yes
The DWP is a great place to work in terms of the support and additional investment the department and leadership make for each employee. The time and effort spent developing yourself and helping others also makes it a special place to work.
Dont give up at the first attempt and keep trying and make the applications or personal statements all about how you made a difference to someone else or improved a process or practice and not all about what you can do.
