Overall running of a busy public house, with a large beer garden and 20 tables inside. My role varies from ordering, stock rotation, cellar management, cash handling, staff management, rota planning, sales planning, Human resources, Employee relations, customer satisfaction, staff training, law and legislations, general maintenance, cleaning and presentation management.
During my time with Greene king and doing my apprenticeship I have gained a wide range of new skills and have also widely expanded existing knowledge through coaching from other employees and trainers and from research and training supplied by the company and lifetime training the online training makes this accessible at all times
I thoroughly enjoy expanding my knowledge to better myself for and better my potential in the future. I believe the valuable experience I am receiving is first class and helps for what ever eventuality the future brings to me or any one taking part in the programmes provided to them
The structure of the programme is excellent, at the very beginning you are given all your key dates for your apprenticeship and these dates have been carefully planned in so they don't overlap with big events for the business helping you to be in your job role when you need to be the most
My employer is very supportive as he is the person who pushed for me to do an apprenticeship as he believes in developing every employee to the best of there ability. We are given allocated time to carry out training and any additional support is always there and readily available
My training coach which has been provided by my training provider is always on the end of the phone for help and support as well as providing a face to face meeting once a month in order to help and track our personal development and progress and any additional needs are catered for
All aspects of the programme is highly relevant to the overall running of a pub and the role I continue to carry out everyday, by carrying out this programme I am able to revaluate the way I do things in order to adapt and better my processes to streamline them for the best possible outcome for the business
All of the above are available within greeneking and Lifetime training and provides wider networking with like minded people, again helping you to expand knowledge by gaining skills and different ways of doing things in terms of the business. This is also a great time to help others in away you can.
Yes
Greene king are an amazing company to work for as the customer and employees are at the heart of everything they do, employees and customers opinions are always taken into consideration when creating training and ways of doing things. Greeneking pay fairly and reward for a job well done, through appreciation
Well done on applying for the best company I've ever worked for, work hard and you will be rewarded fairly and progress quickly. Adapt to take feedback as a gift and that includes criticism as this is what will make you thrive. Adapt and overcome is a great moto used by greeneking in terms of constructive criticism
