  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role as a tutor involves preparing the scheme of work, conducting tests on the students and evaluating performance. On a day-to-day basis I handle the students and teach them mathematics languages and sciences. I also receive parents and discuss matters to do with their children and offer guidance and counseling services to the students.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • To deal with children could be a tiring and sensitive job knowing how children could be. I have learnt to be patient and understanding towards the children. I have also learnt to communicate with them and give them the vital lessons they need to learn. I have also been able to manage my time well and get the best out of the children.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • The programme is an eye opener to me. I have now handled children at a personal level and I have been able to learn from the children and cope up with them. Being their teacher they come toe when they seek advice and I am very happy that I am able to help them in every way I can.

  • My programme has put in place various steps and modules where I get to learn. I have been able to implement all that I learnt and see truly the results of my training. The programme gives a one an opportunity to put in new ideas and implement them. This structure of exchange has been very Vital.

  • My employer has been very supportive. They have provided me with all the resources I need to help the children to learn. I get stationery, textbooks and all the assistance I require to give the children the best education. The employer also encourages me to venture deeply and attain specialization in my area of interest.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • The training provider conducts regula checks and visit to see how I do and perform the tasks delegated to me. This has been important because with the keen interest they take on me I have been able to do things the right way puting in place the advice I receive on a regular basis.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • With basic knowledge in childcare and a strong foundation in education received from my training provider, I have been able to apply all the tricks in the book and I have witnessed the commendable results that my efforts have yielded. I have full faith that my qualifications make me a vital asset for the community.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • The most extra-carricular activities we do are so involving and require attention of all people involved in the school. We have ball games and athletic competitions happening every year. We also volunteer in cleaning the city and planting trees. We also organize debates where we get to discuss motions that help us grow our language.

  • I would recommend Ashford oaks primary school to my friends and family and anybody else because I have seen what they do and I can confidently report that the services are quality the staff is world-class and the environment is a conducive one that enables one to smoothly perform their duties.

  • Being a tutor is a divine call. Ashford oaks primary school gives one an opportunity to practice what they love. I would say that one needs to be a fast learner and be able to keep up. It is a vital point to be able to work and collaborate with others.
