I am an epidemiologist, so I analyse data on the burden of disease in animals.
Yes - my apprenticeship is in bioinformatics, so I'm learning how to use bioinformatics to understand the spread of diseases.
Very much so - it challenges me on a regular basis, helps me develop skills I can use in my workplace, and the support/learning has been excellent from my provider.
Very well organised - I am always aware what's coming up next during the learning portion of my program, and even during my research project I've felt I have regular contact with my supervisors to know what's going on.
Enough support to make sure I can do what I need to do for my apprenticeship, and support when I had to take a break in learning due to BAU requirements
Enough support to help me if I have any questions or strugles
100%, I will be able to not only do more and better analysis but also help bring the technology into my workgroup
Conferences as needed
Yes
My apprenticeship was well supported - but for the level of expertise needed at my level, I am not paid enough (as my apprenticeship is on top of my BAU)
N/A - internal applicants mostly undertake apprenticeships with APHA, apart from our Plant and Bee Health Inspectors
