My role is currently Apprentice Manager as I have already complete a level 2 in retail knowledge and have no progressed onto the next level. On a day to day basis my job involves high levels of customer service and being productive in keeping products on sale to customers as well as coming up with ideas on what and when things need to be done in the most productive way. I am currently learning about how to run the store, what the management roles involve and how they differ from today as well as the different issues that arise.
Whilst being at Aldi I have further developed my customer service, communication and team work skills in order to develop in my role as apprentice manager. I am trained internally by other store members but I am also assessed internally by my college assessor and by other members of management within the store. Everyday there are new things to learn which always help to develop skills.
I have really enjoyed my experience of the programme so far and I am really happy with the support I get both from the college, and from my work colleagues themselves. This programme has been a lot more than I expected it to be and has made me realise how much hard work there is in running and working in a retail business.
I feel very valued by Aldi and the team that I work with. They are always happy to help and always showing me and helping me develop my skills within Aldi. Hard work is always appreciated by management and all team members, there is always someone willing to spend time with you and explain things if there is something you don't understand.
My programme is well organised with both my manager and my college assessor. I am always well aware in advance of when my college assessor is coming and what I am expected to have completed. My manager is always willing to spend time with me and my college assessor to discuss progress and training plans of action.
My training provider is always on hand if I have a problem with any work that has been set or if I need to rearrange our scheduled appointment. My training provider is always happy to help.
I receive lots of support from my employer as my manager is always happy to sit with me and discuss progress and plans of action for the future and ways in which I can develop my skills to the best of my ability.
very well.
When I am not working I have enough time to spend with friends and family allowing me to still have days out. I also go to the gym and on occasions such as Christmas the team will get together for a night out or a few drinks.
