I am working on my first placement with PwC. I was assisting in the audit sector of the business while it involves providing quality and assurance to clients when verifying their financial statements. This involved completing evidence gathering activities while providing communication to clients to ensure information provided was correct.
I had developed my skills in excel while it has helped me use the software made by PwC. This involves using client data and manipulating data so it can provide evidence for information provided by clients relating to their companies. Furthermore, I had learned how to compose emails in a professional manner.
I enjoyed communicating to clients while providing help when assisting clients to ensure efficient work was carried out. Fortunately, I had an away trip to client site in which i stayed in london for a week and it had given me a real insight into the types of people PwC deal with.
The structure of the course is ideal as you can experience a student life while having work experience in a top 4 firm. This will help me grow and experience working in a real life sector while having to deal with the pressure of sitting professional exams while only being a university student.
The employer has provided financial support to all people on the course and has given us time to revise for exams. The career coach is provided to all individuals and it is important for individuals to grow and prosper within a big organisation like PwC. This will help build connections in PwC.
Making use of real life evidence gathering activities gives you a real insight why it is important for audit and it helps provide a real life concept when comparing it to the theory side of my studies in accounting and business. While all aspects of learning are mentioned within work carried out by PwC.
The qualification of achieving an ACA is highly important within my role due to the fact it is about providing quality work and to maintain the relationship PwC has with its clients. The ACA will help provide vital information to all aspects of the business and how clients act within the audit.
There are many social activities and the working culture of PwC is very big. Everyone is friendly and the office environment is chilled, we had many socia, events like pizza parties and drinks which is good to build relationships with the office. While sports day events was good as it was used to raise money
Yes
PwC is an amazing group of individuals that will help you boost your career and provide an insight into the real working world. It helps you realise what is important in the world and provide opportunities to speak with many people of experience and different working cultures that help you progress.
I would advise people to be sharp and confident when trying to apply to a place like PwC as it is very hard to get in. I would advise people to work on building relationships with people while providing insight and knowledge into any random scenario that is faced within work.
