  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have been learning how to delegate more to staff, rather than trying to do most things myself. I have learned that my team can be really good with communication in regards to the children and I'm going to be focusing on this going forward. Also learned more about safeguarding and what is expected of DSL

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I feel I receive the basic amount of support that I need from my employer. When I do ask for help it takes a long period of time to be given the help, and I have to continuously before I get any help. The only time out of work In have been given to complete the course work is every 6 weeks for the life lessons.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Because the qualification is work based, everything I have been learning, I have been able to put into practice and also help and support other staff because I've been learning how to look at things as a bigger picture and where things can progress to rather than just looking at things as a day to say process.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • We don't have any extra curricular at work, we do have a summer party and Christmas party. We are supposed to have team bonding days/evenings but these have yet to happened. I also think it would be good for the management team and senior team to have a team bonding day/evening as we also team to be a close nit team.

  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I would recommend Realise to a friend because they are supportive throughout the training, quick to help with any questions and the course materials are in-depth and you always have access to the learning resources from the live lessons. You have deadlines to meet but you can work at your own pace through the assignments, you don't feel rushed or pressured.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to muddy puddles nurseries?
  • To plan your time, allocated set times and days to do your course work, otherwise you get so invested that you wont have any spare time. Take your time and do your research and record all your resources that you have used as you got for Harvard referencing, otherwise you will lose track and get confused. Always contact your tutor if you have any question not matter how small they may seem. If you can do your training with a friend or colleague as its good to have support or help form another team member in your setting.
