I work field based to support multiple Costa teams with their instore operations, processes and team training
Yes - different ways to communicate with people especially based on their status (stakeholders), but also learning styles. Focusing on the end goal especially when coaching, and understanding what motivates people to drive their performance
In the end, a lot. However, the first 5-6 months were very rocky and unstructured and this resulted in me almost giving up on the course. The content was great, and the final coach was brilliant.
Felt unstructured, and the expectations not clear which made it hard to understand the structure and the work expectation.
My line manager was fantastic however I did change my line manager 6 months in which helped a lot with support. I would say they are not equipped with enough structure to understand the workload and expectations
My training provider was great throughout, very engaging and explained the context well. She also offered additional support or to go through additional parts again, and felt very approachable and genuine.
I think its helped my mindset and personal belief that I can still learn and do things differently. My outlook is a lot better then it was and I now try to not work in silo as much
not explicitly in my job role (field based)
Yes
There are a lot of good leaders who care about their leaders, and when you are lucky enough to have one they transform your way of leading.
Be adaptable and flexible, take the tough times with the good, and work with your team whilst having fun along the way!
