It was 3 days of insightful panel talks, workshops and activities that reflect the tasks of what real trainee solicitors would do. There was also lots of practical information about vacation schemes, training contracts and the main ethos behind Pinsent Masons too.
I definitely developed my communication skills both verbally and written as having breakout rooms in our online meetings forced me to discuss in my group about our tasks and the interpretation task set on the last day required me to analyse and apply the law to a fictitious case.
I really enjoyed my work experience and found it very insightful. The only problems I had were do to with my technology and Microsoft Teams not working properly which was quite frustrating and did hinder my experience a bit. However, that was not Pinsent Mason's fault
I think it was very organised as even our breaks were labelled on our timetable and each workshop/online meeting we had did have a brief description on Forage which meant that I was able to keep track of what my day would entail
I learnt a lot about Pinsent Mason's purpose-driven approach to all things business and community which was very insightful. Most surprising was how involved the firm was with community investment and local projects which certainly has consolidated my desire to apply for further work experience/ vacation schemes with PM
My work experience with Pinsent Masons has consolidated my decision to pursue a legal career as talking to the range of trainee solicitors, solicitor apprentices, legal directors and associates involved made me realise that I could see myself in their position
