  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Absolutely. Since starting my apprenticeship, I have learned to be more expressful in writing. HR is about story telling because there can be consequences as a result of being misunderstood. I have also learned how to reflect - a part of the CIPD assessments teaches and encourages you to make impactfuk changes which are a direct result of being present in your work environment - in al it has been a great learning curve!

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • To a great extent beyond my anticipation really. I wasn't too fully aware of what commitment it required but almost a year in and I feel knowledgeable. The programme builds continuous learning skills, which is unlike the school system. You feel motivated to share your challenges with other apprentices on the programme for a better understanding because they are working with other employers but in the same inductry as you - there is gold in lived and shared experiences.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Very well structured as a matter of fact. The smart assessor system although not the easiest to use at first can be such an invaluable resource for apprentice development. The tutor lessons/workshop also provide a good atmosphere for learning. It is collaborative unlike a lecturer vs student environment. I also like the fact that there is provison for wellbeing within the programme.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Adequate support from employer makes the programme enjoyable. If not, it would be impossible to continue the programme to completion. I find that once there is a better understanding of the off-the-job training hours, there is need for alot of time management skills on my part as the apprentice.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • A lot of support is being given by my training provider - it has made a world of difference to my learning experience. I have also and continue to enjoy the additional professional development sessions that have been delivered on the programme - the nuggets of knowledge has been impact in my professional development.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I continue to apply what I am learning on the apprenticeship programme to my world of work. It is unlike a university where you learn the theory and God help you, you can gain experience to even begin to use what you have learnt. That is if you haven't forgotten what you were taught or worse; time has moved on from what you were taught at Uni! In a world where things are moving fast, school is trailing behind which is a disadvantage to some industries. I am more knowledgeable in my role now and gained more confidence in supporting my team to be the best they can be while making sure that their workings lives are the best they can be.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes - I support in facilitating social activities, team days, and even professional training. We never get the time to network but in the world that we work in, the networking is with other professional service delivery partners. I try as much as possible to go out and partner with other organisations who can deliver useful information sessions to my team.

  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • They are professional and provide an all-round support to their apprentice students. The tutors are friendly and non-condescending or patronising. The team is knowledgeable and willing to support in everywhere they can. I think they have a well structured programme too which is important for any apprenticeship programme. I would highly recommend them.
